We don't score games like other sites. But we do want to suggest which games we think best suite different age groups:

These games work with the basics of play and should engage the super young players in our families. Children from 2 to 4 are ideally placed to get the most from these games.

2007 Spring: DK Bongo Blast Wii

2007 Summer: Mad Tracks 360

2007 Autumn: Mario Hoops 3 on 3 DS

2007 Winter: Mario Kart DS

These games provide experiences that connect with a basic joy of discovery and play. Although still simplistic they engage with a wide range of basic principles that our 5 to 10 year olds will best appreciate.

2007 Spring: WarioWare: Twisted GBA

2007 Summer: Elite Beat Agents DS

2007 Autumn: Zack and Wiki Wii

2007 Winter: Super Mario Galaxy Wii

These games provide thrilling experiences that major on brash, loud (sometimes busty) protagonists and should connect with the 11 to 16 year old students in our families.

2007 Spring: Resident Evil 4 Wii

2007 Summer: God of War 2 PS2

2007 Autumn: Super Mario Galaxy Wii

2007 Winter: Gears of War 360

These games provide more of a challenge in both dexterity and problem solving. Hard working hard core gamers 17 and older will rise to these heady experiences.

2007 Spring: Crackdown 360

2007 Summer: Call of Duty 4 360

2007 Autumn: Warhawk PS3

2007 Winter: Twightlight Princess: The Legend of Zelda Wii

These games connect with the gamer on a more mature level. Story driven and often open ended, the experiences here provide space to play with complex issues and engage in moral dilemmas. Either that or to esacpe the grind of the work/home balance.

2007 Spring: The Godfather: Blackhand Edition Wii

2007 Summer: Pinball FX 360

2007 Autumn: Portal 360

2007 Winter: Bioshock 360

These games provide a slightly slower, although no less challenging experience. Time and consideration are of the essence as our most senior gamers enjoy interacting with other players and perfecting their approach.

2007 Spring: Forza Motorsport 2 360

2007 Summer: Planet Puzzle League DS

2007 Autumn: GRiD PS3

2007 Winter: Mercury Meltdown Wii
