Xbox Live Arcade is the donwload video game service on the Xbox 360 console from Microsoft. Along with it's Xbox Live pioneering online gaming community, their service offers a wide range of games to download.
Resident Evil 3 on PSN and PSP is an urban nightmare notable more for the stories told by its setting and sense of place than the weak central narrative. As someone who is driven by games that tell a good tale, Resident Evil 3 both underwhelmed and intrigued me.
Wipeout is visually unique amongst racing games. Its gaming kudos enables it to draw on the top graphic designers from both the gaming and print industry. Wipeout HD on PS3 is simply stunning to look at. Although sticking to the tried and tested Blade Runner aesthetic, the sheer pace of the action coupled with an impressive replay and photo mode make this the best looking future racing game around.
Buzz! Junior: Monster Rumble is a party game aimed at a young audience. The game was ported to the PlayStation 3 by Cohort Studios from the PS2. It includes trophy support and the ability to use a DualShock wireless controller instead of Buzzers, but this doesn't make up for what is a very simple, quick to finish and overall extremely lacking game.
Trine is a platform game where you control a thief, a knight and a wizard. There is also a cooperative play feature, whereby multiple players can join in at any time to control different characters simultaneously. It's a solid, fun game, which fits very nicely into the somewhat lacking 2D spectrum of games available.
Flower delivers another emotional experience. After our and , we settle down for some time with Adam and his family to find out how they got on with it.
The combination of sparkling HD visuals and motion sensitive steering is a mouth watering combination to fans of the Wipeout series. But it is the little touches such as driver assist and gesture sensitivity that make the biggest difference to us family gamers.
I've always been a fan of the Ratchet and Clank games because I love their cartoon style combined with guns and explosions. When I saw that they were releasing Quest for Booty I got all excited and thought it was almost Christmas. When it was released, I was more than happy to part with GBP 9.99 and download it from the Playstation Network.
